16th Annual Martin Invitational Tournament

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 16th Annual MIT. The entry fee is $150 per team. This year’s tournament is a twelve-team tournament that is using two pools with two groups in each. The tournament will use cross-group play in a 10 point system to determine which teams will play the championship games. Trophies and medals will be given to the championship winners and the runners-up will receive medals. Tournament information and forms as well as tournament updates can be found online at www.martinsoccer.com.

WHERE: Games will be played at Wilemon Field (Sam Houston High School) and Cravens Field (Lamar High School).

WHEN: 1st round games on Thursday, 1/24. 2nd round games on Friday, 1/25. 3rd round games on Saturday morning, 1/26, with the Championship games to follow in the early evening.

GAMES: Each team will play a min. of 3 games consisting of two 40- minute halves with a 10-minute half. Games may end in a tie. HOME TEAM: First team listed on schedule will be the home team and will wear light jerseys. The home team will provide 3 game balls.

FORMAT: Teams will be split into four groups of three and two pools. Pool winners will be determined by the 10 point system:
• 6 points for a win
• 3 points for a tie
• 1 point per goal with max of 3 points
• 1 point for a shutout Tiebreakers

Coin flip CHAMPIONSHIPS

The top two point totals in each pool will advance to a Championship game.
The top point totals from each pool will play in the Red Championship, and the other two will play in the Black Championship.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:
The tournament director will decide on a course of action.
